Kolekcją muzyki angielskich kompozytorów urodzonych w odstępie niemal wieku: Johna Dowlanda i Henry'ego Purcella pt. "Songs of Passion" mezzosopranistka Lea Desandre, lutnista Thomas Dunford i Jupiter Ensemble stworzyli uzupełnienie swoich poprzednich albumów: "Eternal Heaven", "Idylle" i "Amazone". Gościnnie na albumie występują czterej śpiewacy młodego pokolenia: baryton Huw Montague Rendall, kontralt Jess Dandy, tenor Laurence Kilsby i bas Alex Rosen. Na plan pierwszy w "Songs of Passion" wysuwają się dwa dzieła sceniczne Purcella: "The Fairy Queen" i "Dido and Aeneas". Słynny lament Dydony, „When I am laid in earth” (Kiedy spocznę w ziemi), stanowi kulminację albumu.
