Na płycie znajduję się 16 nowych utworów z gościnnym udziałem m.in. Kendricka Lamara, Xzibita, Ice Cube'a, Snoop Dogga, The Game i Eminema. Współproducentem płyty jest DJ Premier.
Album "Compton" jest pierwszym studyjnym krążkiem Dr. Dre od 1999 roku, kiedy na rynku ukazał się album "The Chronic 2001".
