LENNON, JOHN & YOKO ONO - POWER TO THE PEOPLE (DELUXE BOXSET)

30 sierpnia 1972 r. John Lennon & Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band wraz z zespołem Elephant’s Memory i specjalnymi gośćmi byli gwiazdą historycznych koncertów „One To One” w nowojorskiej Madison Square Garden. Te charytatywne występy przyciągnęły łącznie 40 tys. widzów i pozwoliły zebrać ponad 1,5 mln dolarów (odpowiednik 11,5 mln w 2025 r.) na wsparcie dzieci z niepełnosprawnościami intelektualnymi i rozwojowymi.

Były to jedyne pełne koncerty Johna Lennona po odejściu z The Beatles oraz ostatnie dwa pełne koncerty, które John i Yoko zagrali razem.

Fragmenty tych występów pojawiły się w filmie dokumentalnym „One To One” – wysoko ocenionej produkcji o Johnie i Yoko w reżyserii Kevina Macdonalda, której producentem wykonawczym był Sean Ono Lennon.

Oba koncerty, wyprodukowane przez Seana Ono Lennona i jego pięciokrotnie nagradzany Grammy zespół, zostały na nowo zmiksowane i zrekonstruowane przez Paula Hicksa i Sama Gannona, z wykorzystaniem nowych, wysokiej jakości transferów ścieżek wielośladowych przygotowanych przez Roba Stevensa. Masteringiem zajął się Alex Wharton w Abbey Road Studios. Zapis koncertów połączono w jeden „Hybrid” show.
